Are Your Image and Identity in Sync?
Your image is what others perceive of you. Your identity is what you really are. To be successful, your image and identity must always be in sync. When they are, that’s authenticity and the making of a brand. When they aren’t, you’re either overselling yourself (lying to the marketplace) or underselling yourself (missing marketing opportunities).
Are you living up to your marketing claims? Are you telling the complete story, and the right story about you in your marketing? Is everything about your company internally (appearance, communications, systems, practices) consistent with how you position yourself externally?
What do you need to do to ensure that your image and identity are in sync and remain that way?
THIS WEEK:
Stir up some consistency in your image and identity. Clarify your vision of how you want to be perceived by others. With your team, identify the adjectives you want prospects and customers to use to describe you, both before and after they do business with you. Assess how you perform in those areas now and identify action steps to achieve and maintain these attributes in everything you do, say, and use to represent you.
